How an investor gets documents today

Advisor-only platform; MCP server in limited release for select advisors; data feed to Tamarac requires setup fee; no public API docs; end investor has no direct programmatic path. The research records no investor-side API.

  • The API is for partners, not for investors. Ask the GP or administrator to deliver documents to a nominated email address or SFTP folder, or to send a data feed from their side of the API. See Partner-only portal access explained.
  • MCP server. An MCP server is in beta. The registry has not confirmed that an investor account can connect to it, so check with Capital Integration Systems LLC (CAIS) before relying on it.
  • Notifications. Email notifications are unknown in the registry. Where they exist, routing them to a monitored mailbox is the first step in How to automate capital call notices.
  • Manual download. Download documents from the web portal (exports recorded: PDF).
  • Check the terms. The registry has not reviewed the terms for automated access. Read them before automating anything.

Not yet on the open protocol. CAIS does not implement the Open Investor Portal Protocol (OIPP), the open API any portal can implement so investors reach every portal through one interface with their own key.

For Capital Integration Systems LLC (CAIS). If anything on this page is wrong or out of date, correct the entry by pull request to the registry or by email. A pull request from a vendor-owned domain marks the entry vendor verified. Implementing OIPP lets investors and their agents fetch documents without scraping, under your own access rules. Sources and notes

Confidence: high that an advisor-only MCP server exists in limited release (InvestmentNews/BusinessWire 2026-05-19; press-release evidence, not vendor docs). High confidence that a CAIS->Tamarac data feed exists (Tamarac help page). No public API docs; APIs are partner-gated. Terms of Use do not explicitly address bots/scraping but limit each username/password to one subscriber and reserve monitoring; no explicit permission for consented automation. End investors generally do not log in directly; the advisor is the user. Investor-side API: none found.
